Employee Spotlight: Michelle Grau-Firkus

Please help us welcome Michelle Grau-Firkus, our Marketing Associate, to the Paramount Center for the Arts!

Michelle joined the Paramount team in October 2021.
I am very excited to join the staff at Paramount! It’s people and purpose are wonderful and I am thankful to be a part of it. This position is a fantastic opportunity and a great fit with my education, experience and interests. The timing is an extra bonus to be joining during the 100th Anniversary. I am looking forward to building the arts community by helping to reach others of all ages from kids to parents to grandparents. The Paramount provides an excellent variety of activities and entertainment for all ages. Families and friends can enjoy time together and build a social and cultural community. Depending on the season, I enjoy biking, boating, driving my ’69 Mustang, snowmobiling, dogsledding, snowshoeing, reading (especially in the sunshine or better yet, by a lake or ocean), watching movies, and spending time with friends and family. I also enjoy travelling any time of the year. I have lived in 6 states and I have been to at least 34. At the Paramount, I have seen bands, plays with family and friends or on school field trips, as well as seen friends perform in both the bands and in the plays. One of my favorite shows is Fabulous Armadillos’ Takin’ It To The Limit: An Eagles Tribute. We were subscription members for a couple of seasons where I enjoyed Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Annie, Westside Story among others. I have also participated in Arts Underground creating my own art projects with family. The arts bring us together through common interests, provide entertainment, social engagement, and inspire inner talents. Art adds color, fun, variety, creativity, imagination, and a sense of accomplishment to our lives. It also offers healing, understanding, reduces stress, and boosts self-esteem. Take a moment to try to even imagine what life would look like without the arts! As the name implies, the arts are paramount to our life.
