Design in Action: Manifestos and Mindful Messages showcases a vibrant collection of posters created by graphic design majors at St. Cloud State University. Featuring work from two studio courses—Advanced Graphic Design: Professional Practice and Intermediate Graphic Design: 3-D Problems—the exhibition explores how design can both provoke and reflect, challenge and calm.
Students in the Professional Practice course designed personal manifestos that critique the current state of graphic design, imagine its future, and call others to action. In contrast, students in the 3-D Problems course took an introspective approach, creating typographic posters exploring mindfulness and presence.
Adding an innovative layer, the posters include an Augmented Reality (AR) component. Viewers can use the Adobe Aero app to activate interactive elements that enrich the visual and conceptual experience.
Together, these posters reveal how graphic design can serve as both a mirror of the self and a megaphone for change.
