I’m a painter and I create in acrylic paint with a variety of mixed media on canvas and wooden panels. My work is abstract. It hasn’t always been. I spent thirty-five years studying representational art; portraiture, landscape and still life. In 2012 I transitioned to what I consider much more expressive mediums and techniques for me, and I have never looked back. I would say abstraction has always been calling to me, I just finally listened!

I entered my first art show at age 15. That was in southern California, where I was raised. I studied figure drawing, screen printing, batik, block printing, graphic arts, painting and art history. Oil paint became my medium of choice, and I went on to study from many great artists and instructors over the years.

For thirty years I had a design/production studio and created fashion accessories for the gift and wholesale trade, Northern Brights, Inc. All while I was running that business, I was painting and studying art.

I have done numerous Artist in Residences and taught art classes to folks with memory loss. I teach acrylic mixed media art classes in my private studio, teach art to senior folks in the Foley, MN community and I am an instructor at the Paramount Center for the Arts in St. Cloud, MN.

Volunteering for many of the art organizations in the central Minnesota area has been amazing and so rewarding.

I have participated in numerous art shows and have taken awards. My paintings have found their way into private and corporate collections.

My work is always evolving, new images and ideas are constantly emerging and that keeps me inspired, excited and thrilled as I continue to develop and build my body of abstract work.

Thank you for your attention to my passion, art.
