Exhibition Description:
These works began as letters to my wife, Maria, written after she passed away from cancer. In painting them, I found a way to continue speaking to her, even in her absence. Layered with words, textures, and gestures, the pieces hold the weight of grief while also tracing the persistence of love.
More than memorials, they are explorations of what it means to live with loss—how memory lingers, how silence speaks, and how art can hold conversations that words alone cannot.

About the Artist

Since I can remember I’ve always had the drive to create something. My mom said that even as a toddler I had to be constantly building something. If I’m not creating something I feel lost, hopeless. Ennui. As soon as I learned that the work artist as a job description, that’s what I wanted to be.
This path has been strewn with challenges, not the least of which was my own self doubt.
Maria entered my life as a force of nature. She quickly became my biggest cheerleader and harshest critic, forcing me to explain, improve and innovate. But she always believed in me. Now that she’s gone, I want to share what she saw in me to the world.
