The artwork in this exhibition are oil paintings that capture the moments and visions that have left a lasting impression on me. My hope is that these subjects will resonate with you as well.
As an artist, I continually seek inspiration and take photographs to use as reference in my work. My upbringing on a farm, coupled with a deep appreciation for nature and history instilled by my father, shapes my creative vision.
Through my art, I aim to convey striking beauty and evoke emotional memories. I am drawn to elements like atmosphere, lighting, abstract shapes, textures, and patterns that you will find in my oil paintings.
About the Artist
I have been oil painting for over 40 years, and now that I have retired from my career in Marketing, I am able to focus on my art full-time.
Being raised on a small farm in Minnesota has had a large influence on my subject matter. I am drawn to country landscapes with barns, animals, flowers and old-time farming equipment and practices. I am also inspired by western landscapes and wildlife. I am an avid photographer and often use my photographs to create digital art composites and paintings which I can use as reference for my paintings.
I started painting in high school, and I quickly realized that it was my passion. I taught myself how to paint by studying the works of other artists and through extensive experimenting with different techniques
