Set against the backdrop of 19th-century Paraguay, REINA follows Eliza Lynch’s journey from Ireland to Paris and ultimately to Paraguay, where she became one of the nation’s most celebrated and controversial historical figures. Her life unfolded alongside the events leading to the War of the Triple Alliance, one of the most devastating conflicts in South American history.

The workshop is being developed by playwright Jorge Delgado in collaboration with composer Katie Horner, with dramaturgical support from Anthony Schrock, and choreography by Patricia Rosales and Ballet Folklórico. The presentation will feature a cast of six actors along with live dance performances celebrating Latin American culture.
