Arts education is central to the Paramount Center for the Arts’ mission. In January 2021, the Paramount will launch its new VIRTUAL FIELD TRIPS program, bringing the arts into hybrid and distant learning classrooms throughout Central Minnesota and beyond. Each month, from January through May, the Paramount will offer a distinct performing arts learning experience for students in grades K-12. The artists that have been chosen represent a wide variety of art forms and are diverse in terms of racial and cultural identity, audience age group, and subject matter. Each Virtual Field Trip will last 45-60 minutes and include a LIVE component, such as a preshow talk, performance, and/or a post-show Q&A. Classrooms can participate live or “on demand” for up to 7 days following the initial stream. These unique Virtual Field Trips are available at a highly reduced rate of $250 per school. Some schools may have CARES Act money that can be used to support these types of programs. Virtual Field Trips are streamed through YouTube and are best viewed by teachers screensharing with their distant learners or through a Smart Board in the classroom.
Principals/Admins must complete an APPROVAL FORM before teachers can make reservations for their classrooms. Click on the artists below to find the APPROVAL FORM for that specific Field Trip.
