Intro to Wood Carving with a Micromotor – Flexshaft

Be the one of the first at the Paramount to explore a variety wood carving techniques using a micro carver, in this class new to the Paramount Studios! Wood artist Ellen Starr will introduce an assortment of tools, basic cuts and sanding techniques used to successfully and safely work with a micromotor. Ellen will also demonstrate a variety of texturing and detailing options throughout the workshop. Join us!
Materials and Tools List:
Please bring the following (required) items with you to class- 1. A Power carving tool – Micromotor or a Foredom or Dremel with a flexshaft, and speed control.
I will be working with a Micro-PRO by Mastercarver 46,000 RPM Detail Carver for Piercing & Carving
German invert pear stump bur
Sabuur Tooth bullnose fine yellow bur
Cylinder stump burs

Various carbide bits can also be used, I will have some on hand for you to try.
