Clay Cohort: Create Pottery for the Gas Kiln 
with Dave Glenn
Experience Level: Intermediate and advanced level throwing techniques discussed in class, prior experience is required. (Must be able to center clay and throw basic cylinders)
Every Other Wednesday, January 26-May 18, 2022, 6-8:30pm (9 sessions)
Ages 14+

Explore a variety of forms on the pottery wheel and select hand-building techniques. In the class “off weeks” work independently in the studio to create work and participate in the gas kiln firings. Students must be able to throw basic cylinders.

Materials list for Paramount Ceramics Classes

 1.) Basic Pottery Tool Kit, including:

-Needle Tool

-Wire Tool (for cutting & removing pots from the wheel)

-Wooden Kidney Tool

-Trim Tool

*Tool kits may be purchased at the Paramount or local art supply stores (Baker’s, Michael’s & Crafts Direct)

2.) Plastic to cover your work (dry cleaning bags work great for this! )

3.) Item you would like to create texture with

4.) Ice cream pail for water

5.) Old towel

6.) Lock for your locker

7.) Clay: Your first bag of clay is included in the cost of tuition, but depending on the size and number of pieces you create you may need to purchase more. We have a variety to choose from, ranging in price from $12-$25 for a 25 pound bag.
