VA6: FUNdamentals of Printmaking
with teaching artist Jasmyn Linn

Monday July 22-Thursday July 25, 1-3pm
For ages 11-14

Join us as we explore the exciting medium of printmaking! This camp will focus on designing and creating a block, through a process of learning how to safely use (non-electric) hand tools, called cutters, to carve your design.  Once carved you will transfer your artistic images onto paper, fabric, and more as we experiment with a variety of essential techniques to create beautiful and unique works of art! Cards and decorative wall hangings are just some of our planned projects, join us to discover other opportunities in the exciting world of printmaking!

Paramount Center for the Arts Summer Camps!
Our fun-filled camps are jam-packed with extraordinary opportunities to work with clay, painting and drawing, mixed media, glass projects and so much more!

Frequently Asked Questions:

Class Ages: Because projects are designed with the specific age groups identified, students must be the minimum age listed on the start date of camp.

Transportation: Families are responsible for arranging transportation of their students. Students should arrive no earlier than 15 minutes before the start of classes and picked-up no later than 15 minutes after camps end.

Art Show: Each week will culminate with an Art Show the final 20 minutes of camp, where we welcome friends and family to celebrate the work of students! Work that is ready to go home may be collected upon departure. Work that needs to be fired in a kiln will remain on site. The Paramount will send an email once the work is ready for pick-up (typically three or four weeks after the final day of camp)

Clothing: Please send your child in clothes that can get messy! Closed toed shoes (no sandals) help keep feet protected while in studio.

Lunch: If your student is registered for both morning and afternoon camps in a week, they are welcome to remain on site and eat lunch with our staff! Students should bring their own bag lunch; students will not be able to leave the facility to purchase lunch off site or have access to vending machines. Due to allergy concerns, we ask that no tree nut or peanut products be sent.

Electronics: We ask that devices, including phones or tablets, be turned to silent mode during camps. Ringtones and alerts can be distracting in the creative environment. The Paramount is not responsible for damaged, lost, or stolen devices. Should you need to contact your student please call the Visual Arts Office at (320) 257-3128.

Assistance Fund: The Paramount Center for the Arts’ Assistance Fund provides access to our educational arts programming for those who would not otherwise be able to participate due to financial limitations.

Cancellation Policy: Cancellations are eligible for a partial refund, less an administration fee of 15% of camp tuition, if the cancellation happens 15 or more calendar days prior to the camp start date. Unfortunately, refunds are not available for cancellations happening 14 days, or fewer, of the camp start date.

Camps run Monday through Thursday each week. Unfortunately, the Paramount is unable to pro-rate camps due to absences, with the exception of family or medical emergency.
