*Please note that this is a pre-recorded virtual class: a link will be emailed to you, which will become active when the class goes live starting July 11
For ages 7+
Explore the exciting world of pop art as artist Laura Ruprecht walks us through creating three dimensional images on paper. We will learn basic drawing skills and a little about the pop art movement; how using bold colors, unique shapes, and your own imagination you can create images with a lot of feeling. After a bit practice, we will collect all the skills we’ve explored and create a fun cake picture in the style of artist Wayne Thiebaud, using oil pastels. We’ll share the techniques you need for artistic success, you decide the “flavor”, colors, decorations, and most importantly… who to share your cake with!
*This activity is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a Minnesota State Arts Board grant,
thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund
Complete this project in about an hour!
