Play with Paint

Saturdays May 4, 11am-4pm (1 sessions)
*Per the instructors request, masks will be required at this class.
Discover how to create exciting paintings on canvas and boards using non-traditional tools. (Examples: fly swatter, spoon/fork, potato masher, etc.)
Participants are asked to bring 15-20 objects from their home junk drawer or garage that could be used as painting tools.
This class encourages self expression through color, texture and pattern.
Learn ways to be spontaneous and open to new discoveries.
Instructor Marjorie Nilssen is an Art Professor who taught art for over 25 years at Ridgewater College in Willmar, MN.
She has an M.A. in Art from St. Cloud State University and works with encaustic, acrylic and alcohol inks at her studio in Atwater, MN.

Canson XL Vellum Bristol Board pad. 14” x 17”
Strathmore Mixed Media pad 18” 24” (15 sheets)
Other supplies needed:
*15-20 objects from junk drawer, garage, etc., to be used as painting tools.
(Find unusual objects that might make interesting textures)
*Old cookie sheet at least 12” x 16”
3-4 coffee cans or large jars for water
3-4 chip brushes (2-3 inch) from hardware store or Walmart
