For ages 7+

Create beautiful and unique cards of your own design, using all sorts of materials from our kits and from around your home! Paige takes us step by step through a crash course in watercolor painting basics, exploring a little bit of color mixing and terminology, creative places to look for recycling materials from around your home (from markers to old maps and sheet music, Paige helps you create with it all!), and shares a great variety of ideas for themes to get you started! Your kit includes everything you need to create and share three cards, along with materials and techniques that you can use to make many, many more cards and other projects too! Your friends and family will absolutely love to receive these beautiful works of art in the mail, and what a fun way to show someone special that you are thinking of them!

Complete this project in about an hour (or two depending on the number of cards you create and techniques you decide to use!)

What you’ll find (or need to collect from your home) in your Materials Kit: 

• Crayola Watercolor Paint Set (kit includes 8 color set)
• Crayola Super Tip Makers (kit includes set of 10 different colors)
• Cards and Envelope Set (kit includes three watercolor paper card/envelope sets)
• Glue Stick (kit includes one stick)
• Assorted Papers (kit includes pieces of maps, old sheet music, scrapbooking papers, misc recycled paper, and copy paper)
• Assorted sponges for creating texture (kit includes one small sponge)

KIT DOES NOT INCLUDE (But you may or may not want to use)

• Scissors to cut papers, can be torn too!

About the Instructor:

This week we are excited to work with Paige LaDue Henry, who teaches, sells artwork in our Gift Gallery, and has exhibited at the Paramount Center for the Arts! Paige is a phenomenal mixed-media artist (acrylics, oils, found objects and more!), creating fun and whimsical pieces, using bright and bold colors and her amazing ability to weave a variety of techniques together to create her own distinct style! You can sense her playful personality while admiring her work and find inspiration in her positivity when you are learning with her in a class. Paige whole heartedly embraces the process of creating and reminds us all to relax and enjoy the artistic experience… “perfection is overrated!”
