Introduction to Watercolor Painting

Wednesdays April 3-April 24, 6-8:30pm (4 sessions)

This entry-level watercolor class is great for the beginning artist and those looking to “brush up” on basic watercolor. Explore foundational techniques for creating beautiful watercolors including color, washes, brushwork, and much more!

Please Bring the Following Materials to the Intro to Watercolor Class:
1.) Sketch book, 60 or 80lb, acid free

2.) Watercolor paper: 10.x14 in size 140lb cold press, acid free. (Arches or Strathmore W.C. 400 series recommended)

3.) Watercolor-brushes: 1″ flat, &  #6 or #8 round

4.) Watercolor paints (student grade welcome)

• RED: Cadmium Red OR Alizarin
• YELLOW: Cadmium (pale or med) Yellow OR New Gamboge
• BLUE: Ultramarine OR Cobalt Blue

5.) Watercolor pallet with good sized paint mixing area.

• waterproof white plastic type plate if pallet’s mix. area small.

6.) #2 Pencil & white eraser.

7.) Fine spray water bottle

8.) Paper towels – white (Viva recommended)

9.) Kleenex

10.) Painter’s tape

11.) Firm surface, 9”x 12” (Plexiglass or hard board recommended) to tape paper onto

12) Two Shallow Water Containers: Cool Whip containers work well!
