Drawing the Face at Any Angle using Pastels

Experience Level: Beginners welcome, however some prior drawing experience is helpful!

Once you learn to draw a full-face portrait, how do you use that knowledge when the subject turns their head? This workshop will help students analyze the anatomical structure of the head in a profile or ¾ position and render the face in a believable way. The morning session includes a short lecture as well as hands-on student work with worksheets and sculptor’s casts. In the afternoon session students apply the principles they’ve learned to drawing from a live model.

Ages 14 and up. Painting and drawing experience suggested but not required.

Class will break for an hour at 1pm, please bring a lunch.
