America the Beautiful
Monday, September 20 at 6:30
Does America have an unhealthy obsession with beauty? Plan a date with your daughter to attend a special viewing of the critically acclaimed film America the Beautiful to see how these increasingly unattainable images contribute greatly to the rise in low self-esteem, body dysmorphia and eating disorders.
The movie begins at 6:30 p.m. followed by a discussion led by the documentary's filmmaker, Darryl Roberts, about our culture's obsession with physical beauty and its effect on females of all ages. The first 200 attendees receive a gift bag and all attendees have a chance to win a door prize. Rated PG-13. For more information, call (320) 229-5139.
This is a free event. |
